Chad Hunt is a master distiller working with his mom and dad at the family distillery in Gainesboro, Tennessee. (That's on the Upper Cumberland Plateau just north of Cookeville.)

Their Roaring River Distillery has won a ton of national medals for its old-fashioned moonshine. Chad took second place in 2022 on the Discovery Channel show called Master Distiller. Before any of this, however, Chad and his family made and sold moonshine, even before it was made legal a few years back.

on the show, Chad talks about making moonshine the old-fashioned way, in a still that can be operated down by the creekside if necessary, hiis hands-on process for making moonshine, and some of distillery’s best-selling flavors, including dill pickle.

Music on this week's show is brand new stuff from a Nashville project called Life in Grooveland.
